A world leader in tyre manufacturing innovation is seeking a Senior Agronomist specialising in natural rubber to join their upstream plantation operations in Kalimantan, Indonesia. This pivotal role involves overseeing agronomic practices across a large-scale rubber estate, driving yield optimisation, sustainability initiatives, and best-in-class crop management. You will work closely with plantation management, R&D teams, and global procurement to ensure a consistent supply of premium-grade natural rubber while championing environmentally responsible practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead agronomic strategy and field operations across the rubber plantation estate, ensuring optimal tapping schedules, clone selection, and replanting programmes
- Drive yield improvement initiatives through soil health management, nutrient programmes, and integrated pest and disease management (IPDM)
- Oversee trials and implementation of new rubber clones, tapping technologies, and sustainable farming techniques
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators including yield per hectare, bark consumption, and latex quality parameters
- Ensure compliance with sustainability certifications and environmental standards including ISCC, FSC, and local regulatory requirements
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of field agronomists, supervisors, and technical staff across multiple plantation divisions
- Collaborate with the R&D and quality assurance teams to ensure raw material specifications meet downstream manufacturing requirements
- Prepare detailed agronomic reports, budgets, and strategic plans for senior leadership and group stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Plantation Management, Agricultural Science, or a closely related discipline
- Minimum 8 years' experience in rubber agronomy or plantation management, with at least 3 years in a senior or supervisory capacity
- In-depth knowledge of Hevea brasiliensis agronomy including clone selection, tapping systems, latex processing, and disease management
- Demonstrated experience with sustainability frameworks and certification schemes (ISCC, FSC, RSPO, or equivalent)
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills with the ability to translate field data into actionable improvement plans
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities in remote or plantation-based environments
- Willingness to reside on-site in Kalimantan with regular field presence across plantation divisions
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is highly advantageous
